Luciana Bass (Argentina, 1983) is a guitarist, improviser and sound artist graduated in Sound Arts and Design at the University of the Arts London. She was captivated by the possibilities of free improvised music to which she has been dedicated for the last 10 years. Today it is the union between written and improvised music what mostly interests her. She was part of Unknown Devices, the Laptop Orchestra, an ensemble directed by well-known English writer and improviser David Toop with whom she had the opportunity to perform in places such as Tate Modern and Tate Britain, among others. She also took part in a weekly workshop for improvised music led by English pioneer of improvised music Eddie Prevost. There, she had the chance to meet and play with many distinguished improvisers form the London improvised music scene.
Rocío Giménez López (Argentina, 1983) is a pianist improviser and composer graduated from Escuela Provincial de Música Santa Fe where she studied classical piano. She later focused on the interpretation and improvisation of jazz language attending piano lessons with Marilyn Crispell, Craig Taborn, Leo Genovese and Agustí Fernández. She has also attended workshops and lessons taught by Frank Calberg, John Stowell, Mark Helias, George Garzone, Benoit Delbecq and Kris Davis. In 2015 she won a scholarship awarded by the National Fund of the Arts to participate in the III Third Composition and Improvisation National Meeting, in Bariloche, Argentina. In July 2017 she won a scholarship, which gave her the chance to study with Marilyn Crispell in Woodstock, USA. She was also invited to open Ravi Coltrane’s concert in Rosario in a piano double bass duet with Emilio Madeo.
Fermín Suárez (Argentina, 1992) is a double bass player, improviser and composer from Rosario, Argentina. As a part of the city´s independent music scene, he has collaborated on a large amount of projects involving different styles of music such as Argentinian tango, jazz, free improvisation and Latin American song writing. Often performing live, touring, and recording as a session musician. Since 2018 he co-leads the Neo Tango group “La Rompiente” also contributing original songs. In May of 2020 he independently released a single in collaboration with Argentinian guitarist Joaquín Ortega consisting of two short duo pieces. “2 Piscines” is available as a free download on the BandCamp platform.
Rosina Scampino (Argentina, 1987) is a drummer, composer and educator. Her musicality and highly sensitive touch on the drums are what characterize her playing. A native of Rosario, Argentina, Rosina aims to create a sound that represents her South American musical roots in the context of contemporary jazz. Rosina strives to make every performance a positive and joyful experience, and her passion for music has relocated her to Boston, MA, where she currently resides. Rosina holds a diploma in jazz performance from Conservatorio Manuel de Falla (Buenos Aires), as well as a Bachelor s degree from Berklee College of Music and a Master’s degree from the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where she was mentored by Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Adam Cruz, Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Lovano, Kris Davis and Marco Pignataro.
