Pascal Pons is a virtuoso performer for percussion instruments and is renowned as a soloist, ensemble player, pedagogue, and improviser. He is constantly searching for solutions to rethink the percussion set-up, to allow sound and resonance to be set free. This aesthetic and technical approach is apparent in percussive arrangements that range from the simple to the complex. He is active in commissioning and performing solo and concerto work with Orchestra.
As an ensemble player, Pascal Pons has performed with: Ensemble Modern, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Surplus or Musikfabrik. He has worked with composers such as Pierre Boulez, Helmuth Lachenmann, Steve Reich, and performs regularly at international contemporary music festivals and venues.
Pascal Pons currently teaches at the University of Music in Lucerne (solo percussion and ensemble).
